  • Greg Steinberger, Executive Director

    Greg Steinberger
    gsteinberger@uwhillel.org

Greg Steinberger holds a master's degree in social work from the Sol Drachler Program in Jewish Communal Leadership at the University of Michigan. He has worked for the UW Hillel since 1999. Prior to coming to the UW Greg worked at the Ohio State University Hillel, where he served as associate director, and learned at the knee of our talented and creative director Joseph Kohane. Greg received the 2002 Richard M. Joel Exemplar of Excellence award for his work to transform the UW Hillel Foundation into one of national recognition and excellence. Under his leadership, the UW Hillel has been transformed from a small well-liked, yet sleepy, campus institution to one that reaches increasingly large numbers of Jewish students, and is an example for what Hillels can and should become.

UW Hillel graduates can be found working in every major Jewish organization in America. To this end, Greg was recognized at the 2004 AIPAC policy conference as an "ally of the year" for his work in developing pro-Israel activists at both the lay and professional level.
