Religious School Teachers Needed - Beth Israel Center

Beth Israel Center Talmud Torah (Madison’s Conservative Synagogue’s Religious School) is currently interviewing candidates for teaching positions for the fall of 2011


Classes meet 25-30 weeks a year and follow the UW and MMSD vacation schedule
Class hours are:

Sunday Mornings from 9:00 – 11:30am
Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons from 4:00-5:45pm

Currently interviewing for
• Lead Teachers (Jewish Studies and Hebrew/Tefillah)
• Assistant teachers
• Shabbat and holiday service facilitators

Lead teachers are responsible for lesson planning (curriculum and texts provided), parent communication (including progress reports), planning and participation in family education and paid hours of professional development per year.

Assistants support teachers during class hours with small group work, classroom management and other tasks.

Salaries start at $15 a teaching hour for Lead Teachers and are quite competitive.
