Graduate Students & Young Adults
Welcome to Grad Plus
If you are a Jewish grad student or young adult in your 20s and 30s in the Madison area this is the place for you! Here you will be able to find out information about all the events, programs and resources that the Madison Jewish community has to offer.
About Grad Plus
Grad Plus is a program run by Hillel at the University of Wisconsin that serves the needs of Jewish grad students and young adults in their twenties and early thirties in Madison. Grad Plus’s primary focus is on serving Jewish graduate students, however Grad Plus is also open to young professionals who are seeking to find a community of other Jewish young adults. We bring Jewish grad students and young adults together and create opportunities for them to build community and celebrate Judaism.
Grad Plus participants work together to plan a variety of activities throughout the year including Shabbat services, festive meals, holiday celebrations, service opportunities and more! Previous events include bar nights, a kosher wine tasting, pot luck Yom Kippur Break Fast, and Shabbat dinners!
Grad Plus Programs
Tuseday Schmoozday
This event will be held the first Tuesday of every month at a different location. It is a great time to take a break during the week to meet up with your fellow grads! Visit our calendar for the locations!
Shabbatluck
We are looking for a grad student or young professional to host a Friday night potluck dinner at their house to celebrate Shabbat. Email Josh to let us know if you can host! It’s really quite easy, you just need enough space to accommodate 15-25 people.
Friday nights at Hillel
During the academic year check out the "Grad Plus" table at our free Shabbat dinners. Each week we have more and more grad students and young professionals joining us and it is just another great way to get connected to the Jewish grad community. All you have to do is register.
