Learning
Jewish Learning Fellowship(JLF)
JLF is a 10-week, experiential, conversational seminar for students looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms. We're proud to say that we make no claims about the “right” way to practice or not to practice Judaism. Our job is to help you explore and find your own place, on your terms. Enjoy a meal, have great conversations, and earn a stipend - we cannot wait to see you there!
6-7:30pm, Wednesdays, September 17 through December 3
Cohort Descriptions:
JLF 1.0: Life's Big Questions, with Rabbi Judy, is an opportunity to build a community of peers while exploring Jewish wisdom and applying it to our lives. Come connect deeply with new friends over some of these questions: How can Shabbat be a lens for looking at our daily lives as students? Where do I fit in the broader Jewish story? How can I tap into joy and vulnerability by sitting in a sukkah? What is God? Who do I want to be? Through discussions and explorations of Jewish texts, both traditional and contemporary, we will begin to answer some of these questions.
JLF 2.0: Life's Bigger Questions, with Rabbi Andrea, is a meaningful and intentional space to explore deep questions through a lens of Jewish wisdom. Together, we’ll examine practices like gratitude and forgiveness, wrestle with the balance between self-care and communal responsibility, and unpack what it means to be spiritual, religious, or somewhere in between. Our conversations are rooted in the richness of Talmudic texts and contemporary Jewish thinkers, creating space for reflection, dialogue, and connection. It's a chance to engage deeply with Jewish ideas that shape how we live, relate, and grow.
Flavors of Diversity, with Rabeen, is a unique discussion-and-cooking-based cohort where we explore Israel’s rich ethnic and cultural mosaic, from Mizrahi Jews to Druze, Bedouins, Ethiopians, and more. We will do all this while preparing and tasting iconic traditional dishes from each community and dive into the stories, identities, and flavors that shape Israeli society.

Vote
Information
College students have a choice to vote either in their “home” state, or their “school” state, as most meet residence requirements to vote in Wisconsin. We're here to help you get voter ready! If you have questions about voting, visit our Voter Information Center or pop by Hillel to talk to someone in person!
More information to be added soon. Email Zoe with any questions.
Why vote in Wisconsin as an out-of-state student?
Your voting process will be easy! You can vote in person early or on election day, and don’t have to worry about an absentee ballot arriving on time to your home state
You will be voting in the state and locality where you spend the most time and see the daily news.
